My charger is offline, and I don't have Wi-Fi for the charger to connect to. What should I do?

I can't get my Wi-Fi to reach my charger? My charger has network issues, and I can't resolve them? What can I do to avoid problems if my charger struggles to maintain a signal? Why can't my charger stay online?

• Establish a stronger connection to your charger

Our first recommendation to ensure your charger can communicate with the servers, is to establish a stable network connection from your router to the charger if the cellular network (4G-LTE) is limited. If your Wi-Fi signal can't reach the charger, it may be necessary to improve the connection from the router to the charger. We suggest contacting your internet provider, who can best guide you in optimising your home Wi-Fi connection, so we don't mislead you.

• Minimise the need for communication from your charger

Although the charger should ideally always be online, there are ways to minimise the need for real-time communication with the servers. Follow the tips below to be least affected by network issues with your charger:

1. Turn off "Ask for authorisation" (do NOT do this if you are a company car user).
   • When this feature is disabled, charging starts automatically as soon as the cable is connected. This minimises the need for server contact during charging.
2. Use a physical charge tag for authorisation.
   • Alternatively to switching authorisation off, you can use a charging tag for authorisation. The charging tag does not require the charger to be online at the time of scanning.
3. Minimise the use of scheduling.
   • If possible, set scheduled charging directly in the car rather than in the app. This way, you avoid relying on the charger's network connection.
     • Alternatively, you can choose a fixed schedule in the app, for example, during the cheapest hours of the day (typically at night). This reduces the need for frequent changes and also reduces the charger's need for server contact.

We recommend that the charger is online as much as possible. This ensures stable communication with our servers and gives us the best chance to prevent and troubleshoot any issues.
