The charge box configurations is the place where you can customize the setup of the charger to function optimally with your operations.
It includes everything from basic settings like OCPP version, number of connectors, and the CPMS that controls it (Spirii of course!) to custom CPO settings like branding and support lines to very granular settings on the performance, reporting, and controls.
Where can I view and edit the configurations?
In Spirii Connect, you can find the configurations and edit them by:
- Locating the relevant charger by going to Location -> Charge boxes.
- Clicking the 3 dots to the right of the charger in question.
- Click Get configurations.
If no configurations are displayed, you can manually retrieve them from the charger by using the Force reload configurations command.
⚠️ Note: The configuration values are very central to how the charger performs. In some cases, if a setting is entered incorrectly, the charger can become inoperational. This feature is only available for users with the Operator role in Spirii Connect. |
Importing configurations from another charger
When a new charge box is installed, the configuration values will contain the default setup based on the hardware manufacturer and the firmware version. These are retrieved by the charger when it connects for the first time to Spirii Connect.
Instead of manually editing all configuration values to your optimal setup, you can import the exact setup of another compatible charger.
💡 Note: As the configuration keys available can vary across models and firmware, the user can only import configurations from a charger of the same model and the same firmware version. |
Here is how to do it:
- In the Get configurations tab, you can click the Import configurations button.
- Select the charger you want to import values from in the dropdown.
- Click Import.
- You can now edit any values if needed before saving to the charger.
- Click Save to upload the new configuration values to the charger.
⚠️ Warning: Some charger models store the CBID as part of the configuration values. This is often saved in a field containing the word identity. As all values are imported and overwritten, it is important to edit this field back to the new charger's CBID to avoid creating issues for both chargers. |
⚠️ Note: Many configuration values often require a reboot of the charger to take effect. See the documentation of your charger model. |
