What vouchers do
As a TruckCharge host, vouchers are mainly a tool to:
1) Give selected guest fleets a negotiated price at your depot (without changing the public/default tariff), and/or
| If a user has an active voucher in the app, they will pay the voucher price at all locations attached to that voucher - meaning the standard location tariff is disregarded for that user at those locations. |
Step-by-step: Create a Voucher
In Connect, vouchers are organized under Voucher Groups.
The voucher group defines: customer + price + locations, and then you create individual voucher codes under it.
1) Create the Voucher Group (this defines price + where it applies)
- Go to Vouchers in the Connect menu
- Click on the "+" button Create Voucher Group
- Give the Group a clear name and optionally an internal note:
(The customer field is pre-filled)
- Choose how pricing should be calculated for this voucher group:
- Tariff (voucher price follows a pre-created advanced tariff)
- Fixed (fixed price per kWh)
- Dynamic (spot price + markup, with a minimum price)
- Fleet (users charge at zero cost - no invoice is generated with this price type)
- Click Create
2) Attach locations to the Voucher Group
- Open the voucher group → go to the Locations tab
- Search for and bind the locations where the voucher should apply
-
Generate New Vouchers (bulk) → Click on "Autogenerate voucher codes"
- set max users / expires at
- choose a prefix
- choose how many codes to generate
- enter name/email to send codes to
After that, end users can enter the code in their app, and when active they’ll be charged using the voucher pricing at the locations you attached.
Because vouchers override the normal tariff at the attached locations, it’s important to be explicit about:
- Who gets the voucher (which fleets/drivers),
- Where it applies (which locations/sites),
- and Why (guest pricing, partner pricing, internal testing, etc.).
Here are some use case scenarios for using vouchers in TruckCharge:
“Partner fleet pricing”When: You want to open your depot to specific fleets, but at a price you’ve agreed commercially (often different from default). How: Create one voucher group per fleet contract (or per price agreement), attach only the relevant depot locations, and give the fleet their codes. What to highlight: This avoids changing your general tariffs, but the voucher will override pricing for the voucher users at those locations. |
“Different prices for different guest segments”When: You have multiple guest types (e.g., strategic partners vs ad-hoc guests). How: Use multiple voucher groups:
Attach both to the same locations, distribute different codes to different fleets. |
“Pilot/testing control”When: You’re piloting a new site, new pricing, new booking flow, or onboarding a new partner. How: Set voucher codes to:
|
“Avoid operational/support chaos”When: Many depots, many fleets, lots of codes. How: Keep voucher groups small and intentional:
|
